Password policy
As part of our security measures, we have implemented a robust password policy to help protect your account from unauthorized access. Below are the guidelines that all users must follow when creating and maintaining their passwords:
- Complexity Requirements: Your password must be at least 8 characters long and include a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters (e.g., !, @, #, $). This complexity helps to ensure that your password is resistant to common attacks.
- Password Updates: We recommend updating your password periodically, at least once every six months. This practice helps to reduce the risk of exposure from data breaches or other security incidents. You will receive a reminder when it’s time to change your password, but you can update it sooner through your account settings.
- Unique Passwords: Avoid using the same password across multiple sites or applications. Using unique passwords for different accounts enhances your security and reduces the risk of multiple accounts being compromised if one password is exposed.
- Secure Storage: Do not write down your passwords or store them in an unsecured manner. If you need to keep a record of your passwords, use a reputable password manager that encrypts your password database.
- Account Security Features: In addition to a strong password, if your single-sign on provider makes it available to you, we recommend using two-factor authentication (2FA) for an added layer of security. This feature requires an additional verification step beyond just your password to access your account.
In addition to these requirements, we strongly recommend using our single-sign-on service (if available to your business) to ensure you are following any company-specific security requirements.

Data minimization
JigSpace adheres to the principle of data minimization to ensure the security and integrity of your data, particularly on protecting intellectual property and sensitive documents. Our commitment is to collect and store only the essential information needed to deliver our services with the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness.
Here’s how we apply data minimization:
- Purpose Limitation: We strictly limit data collection and storage to what is directly relevant and necessary to accomplish our defined purposes. This means that we only store files, designs, or documents that you actively use or need within our tool.
- Export settings: We recommend when onboarding new customers to only upload 3D files or CAD files to JigSpace that have been exported with the maximum necessary 3D information to create a presentation. For example: uploading a .STEP CAD file with only the mesh, scale, color, and part names, rather than a full native assembly file with build of materials, feature information, mate definitions, or parametric data.
- Minimal Retention: We retain your data only for as long as it is needed for the processing purposes for which it was collected. After this period, subject to our service agreement, data is securely deleted or anonymized, ensuring that your intellectual property and sensitive documents are not held indefinitely.
- Secure Data Handling Protocols: All data handled by JigSpace is processed in accordance with the strict security standards of SOC2 Type II which is designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
- Legal agreements: We welcome working with customers under the umbrella of Non-Disclosure-Agreements or Master Service Agreements, to ensure any specific project or data handling procedures specific to you are followed by our team, and the configuration of your account.
