You can save a 3D object to your team library in the JigSpace app, or account dashboard. Library objects can be created from:
- CAD files that you upload and enrich
- Free 3D objects in the free library that you edit or modify in a Jig.

Saving to the library
To save a 3D object to your library, follow these steps in the workshop.
- Ensure your whole object is selected and in 'Object Mode' {icon-object-mode.svg} in the workshop.
- Tap on the + and Save 3D object’.
- Give your object a name, and reposition the thumbnail model to your desired angle.
- Save.

Replace existing objects
If you are using an existing 3D object from your library and have further edited it, you can choose to save a copy as a new file, or replace the existing one.
- Save a copy - will add an additional 3D object to your team library
- Replace - will replace the 3D object your current 3D object is based on. Only do this if you are sure.

Make object variants
Using the ‘Save a copy’ method above, you can quickly create a library of visually distinct objects from the same core CAD files. Common variations in product libraries we see include:
- Minor 3D sub-object or assembly part variations.
- Material finish variants (chrome, steel, plastics, etc)
- Color variations
- Attachment, size or scale differences
- Language or geographic localization in text labels.
- Animation speed or direction differences.

Create a ‘base model’ first, then save it to your library. You can then add this model to a Jig, update some details like different label text, colors, move, or change sub-object parts, then save a copy to library when you click 'Save 3D object'.
Pro tip: When saving a copy like this to make variants, remember to:
- Save a copy
- Name your objects consistently
- Update thumbnails to visually represent the object.
Bulk upload CAD files
If you have a large number of CAD files you wish to load into your team library, you can also do this via the library in the web-based account dashboard.
