Adding an effect object to a Jig can be a great way to show the flow of movement through models like pipes and provides greater context as to how the models in the scene operate.
This added animation can also add a point of interest to a static scene, drawing the viewers eye to the point of discussion.
Adding effect shapes to your Jig.
To add an effect object to your Jig:
- Press the Add Object {icon-add-object.svg} button to open the Model Library.
- Select the Effects category and load an effect object into your Jig.
- You can customize an effect object like any other object using the toolbar.
- To change the flow texture image, select the color tool {icon-colour.svg} and go to the texture menu.
- Click on the texture image and upload a new image from your folders.
Applying flow effects to other Models.
One of the advantages of the effect objects is that you can copy to the flowing texture effects to other models.
This means that if you’ve created a UV map for your own imported object you will be able to copy the flow effect from an effect object onto your imported object.
To copy the flowing textures to another object:
- Press the Add Object {icon-add-object.svg} button to open the Model Library.
- Select the Effects category and load an effect object into your Jig.
- Select the object you would like to give a flowing texture.
- In the toolbar select the color tool {icon-colour.svg}.
- Tap on the eyedropper tool {icon-dropper.svg} and then tap on the effect object to copy its flowing texture.
(This should copy the flowing texture onto your selected object)
