Overview
The JigSpace workshop now supports adding Audio to your 3D presentations.
Import audio instructions, music or sound effect files, or record your voice instructions directly in the app to reinforce written instructions. You can even add ambient sound effects to add to the atmosphere of your Jig 3D presentations.
Currently Jig supports these audio formats:
- MP3
- OGG
- WAV
- M4A
Note: Files can not be larger than 20MB.
Recording audio in the Jig Workshop
Audio instructions can improve accessibility, and draw your viewer’s attention to an important object or feature in your Jig.
To Record Audio in the Jig workshop:
- Press the Record tool {icon-name.svg}.
- Speak into your microphone clearly. (You will have 30seconds for each recording)
- When you are finished, press Stop {icon-stop.svg}.
- Press the Play {icon-play.svg} icon to listen back to your recording.
- If you want to remove the recording press Delete {icon-delete.svg}.
Each step of your presentation can have its own audio file.
To achieve the best result, we recommend writing down your script/instructions first before tapping Record {icon-record.svg} and limiting length to a maximum of 2-3 sentences per step.
Note: If your current step has a recording and you add {icon-add-steps.svg} a duplicate step, it will also have that audio.
Importing audio files
Audio files can be a great way to add company approved information. Using the audio from a product feature or safety video can be a great way to compliment the experience of exploring a Jig.
To Import an Audio file into your Jig:
- Tap the Audio {icon-audio.svg} icon.
- Select your Audio file from your folders.
- Press the Play {icon-play.svg} icon to listen back to your recording.
- If you want to remove the recording press Delete {icon-delete.svg}.
Exploring Jigs with audio
When viewing your presentation in AR mode {icon-ar.svg} , any Step that has audio files will automatically play at the start of the Step.
Tapping on the Audio {icon-audio.svg} icon will mute audio. To playback the audio press the Play{icon-play.svg} icon or step forward {icon-next-step.svg} and back {icon-previous-step.svg} again.
A single Jig can contain a mix of audio recorded in app or imported from folders, and audio that plays from imported videos.
We recommend checking the volume of each audio element to ensure they are consistent, and avoid combining verbal audio instructions and video (with audio) in the same step.
