2022 was a big year for JigSpace, with many milestones, exciting developments, and new partnerships achieved along the way. In that time, we’ve been absolutely blown away by the positive response and incredible creativity of our amazing JigSpace community.
As we reach the end of another great year, I’d like to take a moment to look back on all that we’ve accomplished together in 2022, as well as glance ahead at what’s in store for JigSpace in 2023.
The year that was: highlights from 2022
Our goals for this year were to continue growing the JigSpace community and delivering value through regular product updates based on insights and feedback from our users.
Highlights of 2022 include:
Introducing universal AR
JigSpace is for everyone. That’s why we launched Universal AR to unlock the power of JigSpace for all users, regardless of whether they’re viewing on a mobile device or a web browser, or exploring content embedded in company websites.
Combining the JigSpace app with embedded viewing and Apple App Clips, viewers can now enjoy a seamless viewing experience on any device without needing to download the JigSpace app. This was the biggest update to JigSpace since launching our very first workshop app back in 2019.
Creating and strengthening partnerships
This year, we’ve developed some incredible partnerships while continuing to nurture relationships with existing clients.
A highlight of 2022 was our work with Alfa Romeo F1® Team ORLEN. Together, we launched their C42 F1 race car – and its stunning new livery – directly into the hands of fans to get them buzzing about the upcoming season.
Launching new features
We also added a whole host of powerful new features to make it easier and more enjoyable to create Jigs.
- Ability to add images, video, and text boxes anywhere in a Jig with just a click
- A team object library for easily sharing models and building model templates
- Universal sharing panels for convenient sharing and embedding
- 1:1 real-world scale for easier and more accurate AR content creation
Improving the user experience
Our goal is to make JigSpace the fastest and most enjoyable way for users of all skill levels to create immersive AR content. That’s why we’ve made loads of improvements to the first-time user experience.
New creators can now expect a better sign-up and onboarding process, as well as the support of tooltips, tutorials, and hints to help them quickly master the JigSpace Workshop.
The industry keeps broadening
With new ideas and innovations arising every day, we’re heading towards a turning point in the industry. Now, with focus shifting away from gaming, and key players such as Lenovo, Meta, and Snap introducing smaller, wearable technology, exciting possibilities continue to emerge within spatial computing.
JigSpace has been instrumental in making AR technology more accessible than ever before. We’ll remain a front-runner in driving innovation and creating new opportunities for our users within this cutting-edge industry.
The year to come: what’s in store for JigSpace in 2023
While we can’t wait to show you what’s on the roadmap for the new year, we’re not going to give away too much just yet. For a small taste of what we’ve got planned, here are just some of the key innovations and developments slated for 2023…
A more powerful Jig creation experience
Our focus for 2022 was on making it easy for first-time users to get started with JigSpace. Now, it’s time to consider the features that advanced users have been requesting all year. This includes custom pivoting, precision editing, object tree selection, and more custom interaction capabilities.
Improved collaboration
We’ve loved watching how teams have been able to come together and collaborate on Jigs, and we plan to continue improving the collaboration experience in 2023. Expect further enhancements to libraries and folders, multi-user editing, commenting & reviewing, and templates.
Going further with virtual reality
This year, Universal AR enabled Jigs to be viewed anywhere, any time and on any device. In 2023, we’ll continue to deliver new and richer ways of viewing Jigs on platforms such as virtual reality to make your content even more immersive.
Our JigSpace community: growing together, better together
We have some of the most passionate, forward-thinking, and innovative users in the world, and I’m constantly amazed by the incredible things you’re able to achieve with JigSpace.
I’d like to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your support, and for being a part of the JigSpace journey. Our users are the true champions of this story and we couldn’t have done it without you.
Happy holidays and here’s to another great year.
